Surry Hills is one of my favourite places in Sydney,
definitely one of the best places to go for food.
There are heaps of nice cafes & restaurants, bars and shops here.
Have heard a lot about this cafe - Reuben Hills,
finally had the chance to visit this place.
We reached around 10.45am,
waited for around 15 minutes for a table.
Told them we wanted a table for four,
but maybe because our friends weren't there yet
they only gave us a table for two.
When we asked them to switch us to a bigger table,
they said they had to put us back on the waiting list.
Wasn't very happy with that.
A few customers sitting at the table beside us left,
so at least we got a table.
Initially I wanted to order the baked eggs,
but they couldn't add chorizo into that,
and I really wanted something with Chorizo,
so I ordered the Chorizo Grits.
It came with baked corn tortilla chips, queso fresco, beans & avo.
It wasn't something fancy,
but I liked it.
But in Jeff's opinion,
he had much better dishes similar to this,
and it was way much cheaper.
This costed me $18.
The skim latte was pretty good,
I was happy with this,
but it was $4.80,
which is quite pricey compared to other places.
Maybe because today is Good Friday (public holiday surcharge?)
Jeff had the Really fucking great Fried Chicken with chilli in a basket.
He couldn't look past the name so he ordered this.
But it was really just a few pieces of fried chicken with two different dips,
nothing fancy or special.
Popcorn chicken taste so much better in my opinion.
I thought it would be better if they served this with at least some chips or salad.
This was $18,
quite expensive to me.
I thought this place was a little overrated.
The food wasn't something to wow about,
the service wasn't exactly that good,
the portion was quite small,
and the price of the food wasn't cheap.
Don't think I will go back to this place any time soon.
If you want more information, look them up.
